Pedestrian Access

  • From Monday, May 18, to Friday, May 22, the crosswalk on East California Boulevard, between the tennis courts and the Ginsburg project site, will be closed to accommodate sidewalk demolition and replacement. The pedestrian travel path from Parking Structure #3 to the south side of campus will be rerouted to crosswalks on South Wilson Avenue and Arden Road. See the image above for a map of the alternate paths.

Parking and Traffic

  • From Monday, June 1, to Thursday, June 4, East California Boulevard between South Hill Avenue and Arden Road will undergo crosswalk and bike lane re-striping during evening hours (4:30 PM – 7:00 AM). During this time, the left turn from California Boulevard onto South Campus Drive will not be available. Drivers heading to the childcare and athletic area should travel eastbound on California Boulevard and turn right to enter.
  • In mid- to late-May, Wilson Avenue will undergo re-striping. Exact dates are to be determined and will be shared when available. During this time, traffic in the area will be redirected and parking along Wilson Avenue will be limited. Please plan accordingly.

Construction Impacts

  • Ginsburg Center: Construction of the main building is ongoing and progressing as scheduled.
    • South Gate Plaza: Construction activity in the area has increased and will continue into May.
  • Downs-Lauritsen Lab: The installation of glass on the bridge connecting Downs-Lauritsen with the Ginsburg Center has been completed.
  • Frank J. Malina Laboratory for High-Speed Flight Dynamics: Construction on the south side of the Guggenheim Laboratory is ongoing.
